Hi there!
I am Sandy Lin-Chiang.
I started building my career in the video game industry in 2005. My most recent role is an Art Director at Sledgehammer Games, an Activision Blizzard studio, and worked on 6 Call of Duty titles.
My role as an Art Director is to develop and articulate artistic visions with clarity, meaning and purpose. I supervise all the visual components across all the art disciplines ranging from concept art, character design, environment, set dressing, VFX, lighting to cinematics. I also collaborate with other development disciplines like game design, animation, and narrative to constitute and align on creative pillars, so we drive toward a singular vision and strategize through technical and artistic lenses. I very much enjoy the collaborative and creative process through my work. It is rewarding to orchestrate all the visual elements together. I always find new learnings and get inspired by my peers as we reach toward the visual harmonies.
In additional to art direction, I also enjoy community building as a female leader in my studio and in the video game industry. I act not only as a people manager but also a mentor, and facilitate and nourish others' career growth.
Prior to Sledgehammer Games, I held various positions at other game studios and worked on different genres since 2005. The experience as an individual content contributor provided solid foundations for me to become an intuitive and well-rounded art leader in the video game and entertainment industry.
In my spare time, I am a super mom, staying active with my children who inspire me mindfully as we mature together.
